Hi, I'm Suzy, a photographer, mentor and mom of 3. I'm so glad you're here.

Despite being incredibly cold and windy, I had the best Thursday last week.  I spent the morning getting brunch with a past client to catch up with her now that The Two are almost 3 months old.  We went to a new restaurant (and what is also now my FAVORITE breakfast spot!), Kanela, off of Clark and Belmont.  It.is.amazing.  Mmmm a mocha and their spicy feta omelette (and their bougatsa is to die for!)…  The Two slept quietly as we talked about everything from our love for books to the moment that Noli discovered his fingers  for the first time the other day.  It was lovely 🙂

And on my way home I drove down LSD and looked at the lake.. I love when the waves are so choppy and violent, a reminder of how powerful Mother Nature really is I suppose.  Also it made me think back to some fond but sad memories and so for the sake of a quiet moment, I pulled over on the side of the road and sat on the beach for a few minutes… just me and the waves.

The Artist

Suzzane
brown

For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with individuals and families who understand the value of time. And the importance of preserving it well.

My work centers on creating living archives: carefully composed records of a life as it’s being lived. Not performances. Not surface moments. But the relationships, environments, and details that define a legacy.

I approach each commission with the eye of an artist and the discipline of a documentarian. Listening closely. Observing deeply. Shaping work that is meant to endure. Crafted on film, finished as heirloom objects, and designed to be held in your hands, lived with in the home, and passed down in your private family vault.

This is not photography for the present moment.

It is art made in service of memory, history, and the generations that follow.
