Hi, I'm Suzy, a photographer, mentor and mom of 3. I'm so glad you're here.

I absolutely adore this family and have since the moment I met them in a Starbucks over a year ago to chat about doing a possible newborn photography session for them. But that seems like ages ago now.. their twins have already celebrated their first birthday and I figured I best hurry up and share their 7 month pictures already before I get their latest 1 year sesh back from the lab (what can I say, I’m super behind on my blogging these days).

And looking back at these pictures even seems like so long ago.. I remember we all came up with this genius plan to take them to the park and do photos of the kids in the leaves, and so we walk over there together, it’s a perfect cloudy day, every one looks great.. and for the life of us we could not get the two’s attention on anything but the leaves (and putting them in their mouth ha!).  At the time, we were all so bummed out we didn’t get a great shot of them both looking and smiling at the camera for their holiday card, but now when I look at the photos all I can do is laugh thinking about the whole situation. It was great, and I hope that mom & dad always think back to how fun and ridiculous it was just as much as I do 🙂

Thanks so much guys for letting me a part of your family’s first year together, and for always being such a treat to photograph and spend time with XO

The Artist

Suzzane
brown

For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with individuals and families who understand the value of time. And the importance of preserving it well.

My work centers on creating living archives: carefully composed records of a life as it’s being lived. Not performances. Not surface moments. But the relationships, environments, and details that define a legacy.

I approach each commission with the eye of an artist and the discipline of a documentarian. Listening closely. Observing deeply. Shaping work that is meant to endure. Crafted on film, finished as heirloom objects, and designed to be held in your hands, lived with in the home, and passed down in your private family vault.

This is not photography for the present moment.

It is art made in service of memory, history, and the generations that follow.
