Even when I’m not shooting for clients, I’m often asking friends, past clients or family if I can come back and photograph them just for fun. I pretty much do work for clients so that I can make enough money to create more artwork in my own time (Vasili says I’m addicted to my work, but I like to call it passion).
So for those who follow my blog might remember my shoot to capture Colton at 12 months.. well, I loved the outfits that mom dressed these two up in so much that I asked if I could return and do some portraits of the kids in them on another day. Sometimes it’s really difficult for my brain to juggle a portrait mindset and a photojournalistic mindset at sessions (though this is always my goal), so I’m always simultaneously practicing both. Since I really wanted to just focus on the kids’ beautiful clothing I thought portraits would be the right theme for that morning’s project. I also thought it would be a great opportunity to try out a film that I haven’t used in a long time (fuji 400H).
Anyway, here are some of my favorites of Colton & Rylee from that day. Thanks Candice for offering up the kids as my models, enjoy! XO
(outfits from GAP kids, which by the way if you are planning a photo session with me any time soon and not sure what to dress your little one in, PLEASE check out their stuff right now 🙂 So adorable!)
