I'm Suzy of Simply by Suzy, and I'm so happy you're here at my blog because I can't wait to serve you with lots of good stuff like a peek into all of my favorite photoshoots for clients, freebies and resources on motherhood, how to get more connected with your life, and how to take beautiful pictures of it.
The other weekend I spent with seriously some of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I originally met Kate through a mutual friend whose nursery she designed. After capturing her work for On to Baby and also getting to know her occasionally over the last year, Kate is my hands-down favorite interior designer in Chicago and the owner of Noble Design Group.
Needless to say I was beyond excited when Kate told me she’d be expecting a little girl of her own and I couldn’t wait to capture her own growing family and nursery 🙂
So the other week we got together for an early morning session to capture their life right before baby Piper’s arrival, and to spend a few hours with these two was just cloud nine for me. Their warmth was so infectious and they were even kind enough to invite me to stay for lunch afterwards. We walked around a local park, saw the duck pond and a pack of crazy squirrels (long story), and then walked back home to hang out for a bit more. Once we were finished shooting we enjoyed chips and salsa & enchiladas (which I must get the recipe for, they were so good!) and talked about technology overloading, helping the less fortunate, and their mission trips to China that they participate in often. It was the perfect session and I hope that these images reflect exactly what I’m talking about.
Anyway, thank you so much again Kate & Brandon for having me over and letting me capture your love, I can’t wait until baby Piper arrives soon! (only 3 more weeks!!) XO
above: Kate designed Piper’s nursery of course. I’m saving detail pictures for her newborn session, it is to die for!
above left: this was actually my test shot. I never delete them because often when I’m looking back I stop and realize I unknowingly captured an amazing split second moment 🙂
above: isn’t this outfit so gorgeous?? It’s from Akira, yes the whole thing (and I totally think I’m going out tomorrow and picking it up for myself)
above: Um, it’s really weird looking at yourself in the mirror posing for the camera lol! (forgot there was a mirror behind me when I was shooting this)
above: And the final question, what outfit will we photograph Piper in when she first comes home?? 😉
