I'm Suzy of Simply by Suzy, and I'm so happy you're here at my blog because I can't wait to serve you with lots of good stuff like a peek into all of my favorite photoshoots for clients, freebies and resources on motherhood, how to get more connected with your life, and how to take beautiful pictures of it.
We all want to remember those first moments when we meet our little one, but some of us aren’t sure if we want someone there for the actual birth ammi right? If this sounds like a dialogue you’ve had in your head, a First 48 photoshoot might be the best thing for you.
But what’s First 48 photography you ask?
A First 48 photoshoot is a session you have at the hospital (or at home if you’ve birthed at home) within 48 hours of your little one being born (for c-section mamas this might take place in the first 72 hours). It’s not so much about fancy outfits or the perfect backdrop so much as it is about capturing those beautiful, raw, honest moments that you first have after your little one(s) is(are) born without having someone there for the actual birth. This might be during a hospital stay after you’ve given birth, or your surrogate has given birth, or as you meet your baby for the first time before finalizing an adoption. It’s a wonderful moment in time that I think many of us pass off because we feel like we’re not going to be looking a certain way or feeling a certain way, or maybe we are feeling like total hell and we dismiss the shoot, but trust me when I say you will never ever regret having this kind of shoot. And I’ll give you pictures where you do think you look effing’ great, big belly and all.
