I'm Suzy of Simply by Suzy, and I'm so happy you're here at my blog because I can't wait to serve you with lots of good stuff like a peek into all of my favorite photoshoots for clients, freebies and resources on motherhood, how to get more connected with your life, and how to take beautiful pictures of it.
This ‘e-session’ was so different than the usual type of engagement photos that I do. When asking Laura about her wedding and what she envisioned her day to be, she said she was having a commitment ceremony with Roy and wanted there to be as little pomp and circumstance, and as little ‘wedding-like’ as possible. So we came up with the idea of having all of their children (and grandbaby!) over for a family BBQ and just photographing them as they hung out for their ‘e-session.’ Needless to say I was SO excited because this is truly what I love to do – to document life’s sweet moments as they happen naturally, to show what I see when I’m quietly walking around a room (or backyard).

How is it that you make everything in life look so beautiful? I don’t even know these people put am touched by the love they obviously have for one another and their family. Great work as always!
Suzy,
Thank you for sharing time with our family and for these beautiful photos. You have such a gift for capturing the feel of what we were experiencing. Looking forward to August.

I just love the pictures. What a beautiful family! And then the last few with Roy and Laura . It beautifully shows their love and friendship. Thank you for sharing!
Doh! I knew that Logan would steal the show :). Great job Suzy, thank you.
I love to shoot in those settings, as well. I love the last two photos, but I think the last one is my favorite :o)
What a beautiful day! I got all teary-eyed seeing Roy and Laura Ann looking at each other. Roy, Logan is absolutely beautiful, but I’d say that your smile gives him a run for his money (well, piggy bank) Suzy, you do amazing work – I can’t wait for Ceremony Day.
You guys (and family) are just so beautiful. Great photos. Looking forward to witnessing the big event! xxo
[…] I’ve ever been to (no, literally I was crying through the whole ceremony). As I listened to Laura & Roy say their own vows to each other it was very evident that they have such an incredibly mature and […]
