When asking mom about what she hoped to get most out of spending time with me and my camera, she said she really wanted to just walk around their neighborhood and take pictures around the city so that one day when Mabel looks back on these photographs she can see where she came from and how different the city used to be. It was also pretty cool that their neighborhood just so happened to be a stretch of town that I spend a lot of time at, giving me a pretty good sense of what specific areas the most worthy of documenting.
Six corners, Damen Avenue, Wicker Park, and even just the street that they live on..
If you’re from the Logan Square/Bucktown/Wicker Park area you probably can also appreciate these as well, and think fondly of your own memories in these locations..
Anyway, I’ll let you take a peek at my morning with Mabel and her awesome family 🙂
Thanks again you guys for inviting me out to make some artwork for you and for making a really bright and cheery kind of morning! XO

above left: ok seriously, the bow goes or I do. above right: okay fine, you win 🙂

above: why are toys always so tasty?

above: Yes, we resorted to throwing cat treats on the ground in hopes of getting kitty and Mabel to even just look at each other.. Sadly, we failed. However, I think this amusing moment of Mabel scaring the crap out of kitty with her big belly laugh is even better 😉
