When it comes to having family photos taken inside, I think there is a lot of fear around how they’ll look. What if my house isn’t really bright and filled with sunlight? What if I don’t have a home that looks like it’s straight out of the Everygirl? Some of my favorite shoots are inside with families, just capturing the most simple of moments.. reading books together, feeding your little one.. and honestly, most of the time I’m shooting in homes that don’t look like magazine features and don’t have great sunlight. Often times I’m posing families on the floor by a window, even if it’s in front of a dresser, and some of my favorite shooting scenarios are dimly lit because they make for the most beautiful classic B&W images that are soft and warm.
