Hi, I'm Suzy, a photographer, mentor and mom of 3. I'm so glad you're here.

After this family’s maternity session earlier in summer I was beyond excited to come see them all again once baby Amalia arrived.  When the day of our session came, Mr. Dragon and Tia Suzy (as Amalia’s big sister, Amanda dubbed us) returned for another day of family fun and laughter.. I wish so badly I had taken some pictures of Vasili, aka “Mr. Dragon,” fake sneezing and the laughter that ensued from Amanda – I just love that little girl!  We also had the pleasure of meeting Amalia’s abuela who was visiting all the way from Costa Rica, who by the way makes the most AMAZING lattes courtesy of the beans she brought over from her own coffee farm!

Thank you so much to this family for allowing us the privilege of capturing their birth story, we are so thankful to have met you all and experienced your love.. even if but for two days 🙂

The Artist

Suzzane
brown

For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with individuals and families who understand the value of time. And the importance of preserving it well.

My work centers on creating living archives: carefully composed records of a life as it’s being lived. Not performances. Not surface moments. But the relationships, environments, and details that define a legacy.

I approach each commission with the eye of an artist and the discipline of a documentarian. Listening closely. Observing deeply. Shaping work that is meant to endure. Crafted on film, finished as heirloom objects, and designed to be held in your hands, lived with in the home, and passed down in your private family vault.

This is not photography for the present moment.

It is art made in service of memory, history, and the generations that follow.
