Hi, I'm Suzy, a photographer, mentor and mom of 3. I'm so glad you're here.

My week in Santa Barbara…

We drove along the coast from LA to Santa Barbara

We stopped at a beach in Malibu for the day.. it was so so beautiful.  It amazes me that there are people out there who get to experience that as part of their daily reality.

We stayed with family & friends and even did a little engagement shoot for them (well, Julia did the official shoot and I merely observed with my camera).

We went on hikes and a rock climbing excursion.. I even faced my fear of tight spaces head on at ‘The Narrows.’

We had (several) drinks before Julia got more work done on her tattoo sleeve. There is now a beyond gorgeous piece of artwork forever inked on her arm.

We people watched and found inspiration in the mundane.

We took a moment to enjoy the sun one last time before heading back home.

Here are some of my personal images of our trip.  Nothing fancy, just my own personal memories 🙂

The Artist

Suzzane
brown

For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with individuals and families who understand the value of time. And the importance of preserving it well.

My work centers on creating living archives: carefully composed records of a life as it’s being lived. Not performances. Not surface moments. But the relationships, environments, and details that define a legacy.

I approach each commission with the eye of an artist and the discipline of a documentarian. Listening closely. Observing deeply. Shaping work that is meant to endure. Crafted on film, finished as heirloom objects, and designed to be held in your hands, lived with in the home, and passed down in your private family vault.

This is not photography for the present moment.

It is art made in service of memory, history, and the generations that follow.
