I'm Suzy of Simply by Suzy, and I'm so happy you're here at my blog because I can't wait to serve you with lots of good stuff like a peek into all of my favorite photoshoots for clients, freebies and resources on motherhood, how to get more connected with your life, and how to take beautiful pictures of it.
In the last few years I’ve especially worked hard on just letting go and trusting that whatever happens, good or bad, is always meant for a greater good. That much to our dislike, in order for new doors to open and better things to come our way there is always that painful process preceding it where something is excised from our life (insert, ‘the bad’). Anyway I say all that because that’s one of the topics of thought I feel like I really bonded with this mama over while first communicating via email and even more so when we met up for a brunch date in-person. Long & amazing story made short, this mama was diagnosed with Leukemia 9 years ago and kicked that cancer right on its ass. Flash forward to about a year ago when we met, she explained to me how her and her husband had decided to use an egg donor to start their family and found the most wonderful, incredible woman named Briget (I can testify to her awesomeness as I was lucky enough to meet her on a second brunch date).
above: Dana (mom) brought gifts for Briget and I. Yep, that would be an egg rack for a full baker’s dozen for Briget 😉 (mom is both beautiful and clever)
A few months later, apparently the universe decided it had different plans for mom & dad and brought along baby Rowan just for them through an adoption. Crazy how unexpectedly awesome the universe can be, huh? Well, for sure incredibly awesome for Rowan who is now officially one of the most lucky and loved little babies.ever.
Anyway, of all the reasons why I adore this family and why I love this story, I love sharing it most because it’s just one of a gazillion ways that people create a family. And I think it’s pretty dang cool that we live in a time when all of those gazillion ways are possible.
Thanks so much you guys for letting me have the privilege of capturing your *family* SO unbelievably happy for you!!! XO
