Hi, I'm Suzy, a photographer, mentor and mom of 3. I'm so glad you're here.

Reading books has always been a part of my happiest memories since my mom would read a story to my brothers and I every night as kids (literally, every night).  In fact, my favorite book was Are You My Mother? by Dr. Seuss and I made her read it to me so much that I had it memorized before I could actually even read.  I totally believe that teaching your child the joys of reading books at even a young age is such an amazing thing and so I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of an event coming up to promote literacy.  The event will take place at Open Books on January 26th, 2012 and will be hosted by the non-profit group More than Milk.  I will be definitely be there to show my support for Open Books’ Literacy Programs and I hope that you will be too!  So follow the link below and reserve your spot to join us at Open Books on January 26, 2012 for cuddles and reading with your little ones to promote literacy 🙂

The Artist

Suzzane
brown

For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with individuals and families who understand the value of time. And the importance of preserving it well.

My work centers on creating living archives: carefully composed records of a life as it’s being lived. Not performances. Not surface moments. But the relationships, environments, and details that define a legacy.

I approach each commission with the eye of an artist and the discipline of a documentarian. Listening closely. Observing deeply. Shaping work that is meant to endure. Crafted on film, finished as heirloom objects, and designed to be held in your hands, lived with in the home, and passed down in your private family vault.

This is not photography for the present moment.

It is art made in service of memory, history, and the generations that follow.
