The other day I blogged some photos of my visit to see some friends and their new baby.
About a month after that Vasili and I spent the day with those friends and their babies, having lunch and taking family photos. Life gets so busy between work and family stuff that we don’t all get to hang out with each other nearly as often as we’d like to, you know how it goes..
Though despite looking forward to hanging with Jenn & Rich, we literally could not have picked a worse day for photos lol It was pouring rain and SO unbelievably dark.. but just like my family photography session in DC, film totally blows me away with what it can do in such dismally lit conditions. The colors come out so rich and warm.. very unlike the day itself.
Some highlights for me of our time together –
* bath time. My friend showed off the tummy tub she raved to me about when Coraline was a newborn.. it was so cute to see Collin’s little chubby body squished in the water, almost like peeking through into what he might have looked like in utero. And the little guy loved it! His eyes glazed over as Jenn slowly washed over him with the rag and water and fell fast asleep.
* For the first time ever I got Cora to smile for my camera with ease. Hip hip hooray!
