Yesterday I spent the morning hanging out with this amazing family to revisit ‘The Two’ now that they’re already 3 months old! I first met their mom when she was about 20 weeks pregnant and I can’t believe that we’re already doing family photos… ‘The Two’ are now smiling and talking (well, if you consider the most wonderful, unintelligle babbling as ‘talking’ lol), they’re each taking on unique personalities of their own and both look so much like their mom and dad. I also thought what better way to celebrate Mother’s Day on my blog than to share with you a small glimpse into the love that this family has. Love which stems from the incredible, loving, intelligent and beautiful mother with a heart of gold at the base of their new family tree. I asked her if I could feature her & her family in my Mother’s Day blog and also if she would write up a few words about what this first Mother’s Day meant for her. I think these are the perfect words, for both moms and moms-to-be, and those who wonder if they will ever be..
“For the past years, Mother’s Day had become a struggle for me. While I enjoyed celebrating this special day for my mom, grandmother, sister, and friends – it was always with a bit of heartache, as I was not a mother myself though we were trying so hard to build our family for over five years. Today, I woke up and the first faces that greeted me were my Two. How blessed I am with this gift and how much love I feel for them! They are my pride and joy, and not a day has gone by that I haven’t vowed to provide and care for them the best I can. Today, I think of those who are continuing to struggle to become a mother and have hope for them. I am so grateful to be a mom to my Noli and Geli.”
Thank you so much for sharing your heart with all of us today Maria. Happy Mother’s Day to you and all women who nurture the young 🙂
