Hi, I'm Suzy, a photographer, mentor and mom of 3. I'm so glad you're here.

Toward the end of fall we had the pleasure of photographing Matt & Katy’s wedding at the Lake Forest Armour House.  Of all the things that day, two things stuck out in my mind most: (1) the AWESOME guest table which included a painting of a tree as well as pads of ink so that guests could make ‘leaves’ with their fingerprints, so cute! And (2) a rare and beautiful phenomenon of nature occured, a sun shower!  Someone once told me at a wedding last year that in Japan the ultimate sign of good luck is to have a ‘fox wedding,’ which is where it rains while the sun still shines bright.. and that’s exactly what happened on M&K’s big day.  Thankfully the rain stopped and the sun remained just in time for everyone to have an outdoor ceremony at sunset.

Thank you so much Matt & Katy for allowing us the honor, blessing and privilege of capturing your big day.  We are so happy for you both and really looking forward to meeting up again one day soon 😉

The Artist

Suzzane
brown

For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with individuals and families who understand the value of time. And the importance of preserving it well.

My work centers on creating living archives: carefully composed records of a life as it’s being lived. Not performances. Not surface moments. But the relationships, environments, and details that define a legacy.

I approach each commission with the eye of an artist and the discipline of a documentarian. Listening closely. Observing deeply. Shaping work that is meant to endure. Crafted on film, finished as heirloom objects, and designed to be held in your hands, lived with in the home, and passed down in your private family vault.

This is not photography for the present moment.

It is art made in service of memory, history, and the generations that follow.
