Hi, I'm Suzy, a photographer, mentor and mom of 3. I'm so glad you're here.

The other day I spent with my friend, Megan, at her horse farm in what felt like a real-life Ralph Lauren Polo ad.  I told her that as a kid I was obsessed with those giant creatures and dreamt of being able to ride them (though unfortunately it was an expensive hobby I just couldn’t ever afford).  So she invited me over to check out the farm, spend some time in nature with her, Chapelle (her dog), Grant & Damien (the horses) before the snow and cold came.  As I watched the horses go from their stable to the field, I couldn’t help but take note of their size and strength.  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I know horses are big but it’s as if I somehow forgot how truly magnificent they are.  There’s also something I really envy about them – being able to ride free, the wind through their mane and no one to tell them what to do, what to think, how to be…

The Artist

Suzzane
brown

For nearly two decades, I’ve worked with individuals and families who understand the value of time. And the importance of preserving it well.

My work centers on creating living archives: carefully composed records of a life as it’s being lived. Not performances. Not surface moments. But the relationships, environments, and details that define a legacy.

I approach each commission with the eye of an artist and the discipline of a documentarian. Listening closely. Observing deeply. Shaping work that is meant to endure. Crafted on film, finished as heirloom objects, and designed to be held in your hands, lived with in the home, and passed down in your private family vault.

This is not photography for the present moment.

It is art made in service of memory, history, and the generations that follow.
